The Pisamover Project

An Automatic, Technological, and Sustainable Urban Mobility System

Pisamover is a fully automated public transport system, electrically powered to reduce consumption and emissions.
It falls under the category of cable-propelled APM, driverless, and controlled from a centralized command post.

Technical Specifications

• Two trains running on a single track, with a double track at the intermediate station to allow safe crossing.
• Each train consists of three interconnected cars, connected to a traction cable loop operating in a “shuttle” mode.
• The system operates in fully automatic mode, under the supervision of the Central Command Post operator.
• On board, there are LED screens with service information and train and flight schedules.
• The service complies with the noise emission limits established by Pisa’s municipal acoustic classification, both day and night.

The Parking Facilities

High Capacity, Photovoltaic Coverage, and Urban Traffic Reduction

Pisamover manages the Aurelia and Goletta parking facilities, designed to facilitate travel to the city center and the airport by minimizing private vehicle entry.
Indeed, the proximity between the FS/Pisa Centro station, from which numerous trains depart for Florence, and the Sesta Porta headquarters, where local public transport services are available, ensures full mobility and enjoyment of the city.
From FS/Pisa Centro, numerous regional and high-speed trains to Florence reach the Tuscan capital in an average of one hour.
