In Europe, about one in four adults has some form of disability.
Pisamover is not indifferent to this fact and has been committed for years to making tourist transportation a comfortable experience for everyone.
Our commitment to inclusion has resulted in accessible and tailored shuttle and parking services, capable of meeting the needs of each of our customers.
What measures have been adopted to support people with disabilities?
Our park-and-ride lots (Aurelia and Goletta) are equipped with ticket-dispensing columns reachable from the car and offer a total of 25 parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities, 3 of which are covered. Furthermore, the restrooms at the exit of the Aurelia parking lot are equipped to accommodate people with motor disabilities.
The path from the parking lot to the airport, passing through the shuttle stop, is facilitated by PVC tactile maps, with a LOGES system and color contrast, to provide orientation support for the blind or visually impaired.
Elevators, stairs, buttons, and keypads are equipped with braille and embossed labels, placed at a maximum height of 111 cm. The elevators have a spacious cabin door, equipped with a support handle and both visual and vocal signals.
Access to Pisamover vehicles for people in wheelchairs is marked by clear signage and is level with the platform. The interior of the carriages features reserved seats with an emergency button.
Our Handy Superabile Certification
We are proud that these efforts to participate in accessible tourism have been recognized and rewarded by Handy Superabile. Through the “Itaca Project,” a European cooperation initiative led by the Società della Salute di Pisa, this non-profit association provides validated information on the usability of tourist services, promoting a standard of hospitality for those with motor and/or sensory disabilities that is truly worthy of the name.
